MANILA, Philippines — Social media personality Cherry White has apologized to the Land Transportation Office (LTO) after admitting her mistake over her “reckless driving” video that recently went viral.
According to LTO, Cherry White attended the hearing of her case of reckless driving on Friday, where she surrendered her driver’s license that was suspended for 90 days.

During the hearing, the LTO said the social media personality “admitted her mistake, apologized and cooperated with the LTO Intelligence and Investigation Division in the conduct of the probe.”
“We in the LTO appreciate the humility on the part of Ms Cherry White. As a popular social media personality, we hope that we would find an ally in her in promoting road safety,” Acting Assistant Secretary and LTO Chief, Atty. Greg G. Pua, Jr. said in a statement.
Based on the viral video, Cherry White was seen seated in a casual or lounging posture with one leg raised onto the driver’s seat while driving along Cainta Rizal.
Cherry White explained during the hearing that she posted the video on her Instagram account around three months ago, adding that her video that went viral was posted by a netizen.

“Cherry White said that she was bashed online over the viral video and posted a comment about how she would be able to help LTO personnel whiten a sensitive part of their body. She too apologized over that comment and said it was due to the intense bashing she received online,” the LTO said.
LTO Intelligence and Investigation Division Head, Renante Melitante, meanwhile, told Cherry White to be responsible for her post, especially when it comes to road safety, which the social media personality promised to follow.
The agency gave Cherry White’s camp until Monday to submit the document on the car she was using in the viral video, which was also placed under alarm. /mr
